CASE STUDY – MEDOS

At Medos, located in Chełmno, Poland, a LogiComb automated storage system was implemented to handle long goods such as bars, tubes, and aluminium and PVC profiles. The solution was designed to optimize the storage of large, high-rotation materials by providing fast access to every item while eliminating dispersed storage.

As a Honeycomb storage system from the LogiTower product family, LogiComb serves not only as an automated storage solution but also supports internal material flow, order picking, and production supply. It acts as an integrated buffer between the warehouse and production lines, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of materials.

The implemented system, measuring 12 metres in height and 75 metres in length, provides nearly 1,500 storage locations. As a result, Medos recovered more than 80% of its warehouse space, equivalent to approximately 6,000 m² of reclaimed floor area. In addition, transport routes were shortened, unnecessary handling operations were reduced, and both picking efficiency and workplace ergonomics were significantly improved.

With the implementation of LogiComb, Medos achieved a more organized and predictable warehouse operation. The system enabled more efficient use of the available storage space while streamlining the day-to-day handling of long goods, contributing to smoother and more efficient production processes throughout the facility.
